This document has been created by experienced foodservice equipment industry professionals alongside acknowledged electrical industry experts and in consultation with regulators.

It gives clear guidance on the clarification of responsibilities relating to the electrical installation in a commercial kitchen, between foodservice equipment technicians and other stakeholders including facility designers and specifiers, foodservice operators and building owners/facilities management and their electrical contractors.

As well as outlining a common regime of working practices for foodservice equipment service and installation technicians when working on electrical equipment, it also gives guidance on the level of electrical competence required by foodservice equipment technicians.
