The Catering Equipment Distributors Association Ltd (ceda) are committed to safeguarding the privacy of our clients, website visitors and staff; in this policy we explain how we will treat your personal information.

We will ask you to consent to our use of cookies in accordance with the terms of this policy when you first visit our website.

  • information about staff employed by ceda to manage their employment

cedaRetain is an initiative to help match those who have lost their roles during the Covid 19 crisis. We collect personal details from you for this and these will be shared with all ceda Member companies in the private area of the ceda website.

All cedaRetain data will be deleted after 12 months unless otherwise requested by you.

4) How we use your personal information

We may use your personal information to:

  • send statements, invoices and payment reminders to you, and collect payments from you
  • send you non-marketing commercial communications
  • send you email notifications that you have specifically requested
  • send you marketing communications relating to our business which we think may be of interest to you, by post or, where you have specifically agreed to this, by email or similar technology (you can inform us at any time if you no longer require marketing communications)
  • deal with enquiries and complaints made by or about you relating to our website or any other service provided to you by ceda
  • to support your rights under Data Protection law in relation to our use of your personal information
  • manage your employment (where you are a member of staff employed by ceda or working with ceda)
  • administer our website and business including:
    • personalising our website for you
    • enabling your use of the services available on our website
    • keeping our website secure and preventing fraud
  • Share data with ceda members as part of the cedaRetain initiative mentioned above

Personal information submitted to us through our website will be used for the purposes specified in this policy or on the relevant pages of the website.

We will not, without your express consent, supply your personal information to any third party for the purpose of their or any other third party’s direct marketing.

When registering to attend ceda events, including conferences and exhibitions, we may share relevant information with a limited number of event sponsors. If these sponsors choose to contact you using the details you have supplied, you will have the option to unsubscribe from any ongoing or continuing communications.

The personal data we hold about you will only be used in line with the purposes detailed above and the legal basis for this will be either for the administration of a contract we have in place with you or in line with the legitimate interests of our business in providing information governance and IT Security services (ensuring that this does not impact on your rights or freedoms in relation to privacy) or disclosed as required by law.

ceda have no reason to process sensitive information (special categories or criminal convictions data) about you

We may disclose your personal information to any of our employees, officers, insurers, professional advisers, agents, suppliers or subcontractors insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes set out in this policy.
