SMEG Professional

Smeg was founded by Vittorio Bertazzoni Snr in 1948 when the company specialised in enamelling and metal working.
Today, Smeg is run by the third generation of Bertazzoni, but it still keeps the memory of its beginnings alive in its name: SMEG is an acronym Smalterie Metallurgiche Emiliane Guastalla, which roughly translates as smelting and metal enamelling plant in Emilia, Guastalla, Italy.

Over time, the brand has established itself as a symbol of high aesthetics and each product is made with a unique attention to design aesthetics, style, ergonomics and functionality through vigorous research and development with the support of internationally renowned designers.

Well known for its premium, iconic domestic appliance range, Smeg has also become a leading manufacturer of professional equipment for the catering and hospitality industries and specialised instrument machines for the medical, dental and laboratory sectors.

Significant investment in research and development allows new technologies to be shared between domestic and professional ranges to provide measurable specification and performance benefits.
