The transformation of Corinthia London’s ground floor restaurant into Mezzogiorno by Francesco Mazzei represents far more than a refurbishment; it is the creation of a destination restaurant within one of the capital’s most prestigious five-star hotels. Designed around the culinary heritage of Southern Italy and the personal story of acclaimed chef Francesco Mazzei, the project sought to bring energy, authenticity and theatre into a space that had previously operated with little visible food preparation. TAG Catering Equipment UK was tasked with delivering the operational and technical infrastructure required to place live cooking at the heart of the guest experience while maintaining the elegance and sophistication expected within a luxury hotel environment.

At the centre of the concept is a series of guest-facing culinary experiences, including fresh pasta preparation, live grilling, pizza production and feature dessert displays, all integrated seamlessly into the restaurant design. Every element was carefully considered to balance performance with presentation, ensuring that commercial kitchen functionality remained hidden behind furniture-grade finishes and meticulously detailed fabrication. A bespoke DeManincor cooking suite became the focal point of the restaurant, allowing chefs to engage directly with guests while supporting the demands of breakfast, lunch and dinner service from a single highly flexible platform.

The project demanded exceptional coordination and technical expertise. Delivered within a live hotel environment and alongside multiple concurrent refurbishment programmes, the installation required careful management of power limitations, extraction constraints, service integrations and millimetre-perfect alignment with high-end interior finishes. Through innovative engineering, detailed BIM coordination and a collaborative approach with the hotel and design teams, TAG successfully delivered a restaurant that combines operational excellence with immersive guest experience. The result is a vibrant dining destination that has transformed the arrival journey through the hotel, creating a space where food, craftsmanship and hospitality become part of the performance itself.
