HCE Foodservice Equipment

HCE’s relationship with the Kia Oval spans five years and has grown into one of ongoing collaboration, adaptability, and support at one of the UK’s most iconic sporting venues. Known as the home of Surrey County Cricket Club and steeped in over 175 years of history, the Oval has undergone a steady transformation in recent seasons—not just as a cricket ground, but as a multipurpose destination with expanding capacity, hospitality, and event capabilities.

HCE was initially appointed to design and deliver the kitchen and catering infrastructure for the newly named Galadari Stand—an expansion that increased the venue’s capacity by 2,700 and introduced new member areas, a panoramic roof terrace, and upgraded event and conference spaces. Working closely with the project team at Artelia UK, HCE guided the build from design concept through to full kitchen fit-out and commissioning. The result was a flexible, user-friendly system tailored to the ever-changing operational needs of a modern, high-volume venue.

Since the successful handover, HCE has remained a trusted presence on-site. Our team has continued to service the stadium throughout its busiest periods, completing smaller phased redevelopments across bars, kitchens, ventilation, and cold storage, while also maintaining ongoing service levels during match days. That includes everything from planned upgrades to rapid-response support during events—from T20s and The Hundred to full international Test matches.

As the stadium’s event schedule continues to intensify, so do the challenges. Increased footfall, expanded fixture lists, and a rising demand for high-quality F&B service across more touchpoints have created shorter windows for upgrades and development. Yet, despite tighter deadlines and active site environments, HCE has consistently delivered—providing the technical expertise, clear communication, and logistical planning needed to meet every brief.

The team’s deep understanding of the venue and its operations has made HCE a reliable and agile partner. On match days, that presence continues behind the scenes—whether through rapid repairs, live equipment support, or ensuring the infrastructure is ready to perform under pressure. Every delivery, redesign, and repair has been handled with the same commitment to keeping the Oval running smoothly for staff, guests, and fans alike.

The partnership is built not just on projects, but presence. Being available when needed, understanding the rhythm of the stadium, and having the foresight to keep systems operational long-term are what define HCE’s contribution. From major capital works to last-minute callouts, the Oval team knows they have support they can count on.

For HCE, this is what long-term partnership looks like—being invested in the success of the venue, staying close to the client, and delivering consistently through every phase of their journey.
