CNG Foodservice Equipment Ltd

CNG have worked with Peter Neville previously on the Star At Harome in 2007 when he was Head Chef and more recently in 2019 at the Pheasant Harome when he was Chef Patron. The Homestead is his first solely venture with his partner Cecily and as such Peter’s brief was very much to create a kitchen with as many of the features that he loved in CNG’s previous kitchens, but for fewer covers and at a fraction of the budget.

These included, clear work surfaces with no gantries, fabrication at 1,000 fffl, efficient kitchen ventilation which must meet the requirements of the national Parks and planning.

Located in the picturesque village of Goathland the property includes a holiday let cottage to the left, Peter and Cecily’s home in the middle and the restaurant to the right.

Peter’s aim was to develop a great reputation for quality food to attract locals, but also build a reputation in a radius of 30 miles or more.

Using local produce where-ever possible and cooking modern European cuisine the Homestead would strive for a Michelin Star in due course.

The kitchen would generally have two Chefs, possibly with a KP/general assistant as the business grew.
The space for the kitchen had a low ceiling, with three beams running across the room, the ventilation system would need to fit in the attic space above, with a pitched roof and have both extract and input termination on the rear elevation.
