Burger King Swindon

In June 2021, the Burger King restaurant located in Swindon suffered a devastating fire that resulted in the store being closed due to suffering extensive damage. With sales impacted at this restaurant, Burger King explored the option of looking into introducing a temporary building that could operate alongside the existing fire damaged building whilst it was being rebuilt.

Burger King approached Sprint Group with the task of designing, manufacturing and implementing a bespoke kitchen into the modular temporary building that could still offer the full menu of a much larger restaurant. This modular building was based on a fixed overall size of 8m x 4m, so that it could be transported from the factory on a lorry trailer and craned into place at the original Burger King car park.

Such was the overall success of this particular kitchen design, that this format kitchen has now become a standard template for Burger King to utilise in non-standard building configurations. This has provided Burger King with an entirely new operating platform into areas they would never have explored before, high streets and Haven Holiday Parks being just a few of the examples.
