Hotel Gotham – GILT

Hotel Gotham is a 5-star, luxury hotel located at 100 King Street in central Manchester. The building is one of the city’s grandest listed buildings, a former premises of Midland Bank which was originally designed by Edwin Lutyens in 1928 in the Art Deco style of the time. (Interestingly The Ned Hotel in London was designed by the same architect, where Vision also carried out multiple projects which also included a bar in the old vaults.) The builder/ local contractor working on the project asked Vision Commercial Kitchens to get involved with the project.

This was a prestigious project which took place within a listed building. The project was an interesting and challenging one due to the kitchen’s location being 2 levels below ground amongst old bar vaults. Despite many challenges with site access, deliveries and services, the project was a huge success. Vision established a great working relationship with the builders on the project which meant we could work together to resolve the challenging issues and ensure that the finished project was of a very high standard befitting its location within a much revered 5-star hotel.
